UNESCO and Ethiopian partners held a two-day workshop about digital skills in vocational education. Thirty-seven experts reviewed research on teachers and students. They looked at current abilities, training needs and barriers inside institutions. Their goal was to improve digital teaching and prepare learners for changing jobs.
Participants asked for more practical tests instead of only self-reported questionnaires. They also wanted future studies to cover more regions and larger groups. The workshop produced an action plan for teacher training, better courses and investment. The work is part of the BEAR III project, which runs from 2023 to 2027. It supports education systems in five African countries.
