Young teams in Nepal designed a tool for measuring a school's carbon footprint. UNESCO and the Shequal Foundation organized the three-day event. Participants came from different provinces and worked with expert mentors. Their calculator uses information about energy, transport, water, and waste. It works in Nepali and English, even without an internet connection.
Team Harit won the competition with a simple, visual design. Four university students built the winning prototype from records that schools already keep. The team received funding to improve the tool. Three different schools will test a beta version later. The project helps students connect climate learning with real school decisions.
