UNESCO's lifelong learning institute and the Philippines' technology department have launched a course for ICT Academy personnel who train adult learners. Based on the DELTA framework, it combines live online sessions with independent activities. Participants study accessible teaching, assessment and media literacy. They also explore generative AI for preparing materials, with human oversight remaining part of the process. The emphasis is on helping adults learn effectively, not simply demonstrating technical knowledge.
In one track, 45 trainers will deliver a fifteen-minute lesson for assessment by a panel. Other participants complete a quiz applying the course principles to a case study. The October report described a course scheduled from October 26 to November 13; it did not present final outcomes. It aims to strengthen the skills behind future training programmes. Knowing a subject and teaching it clearly are related but different abilities; instructors must adapt explanations and check what learners understand.
