The European Space Agency opened Moon Camp 2026–2027 on 18 September. The project invites students to design places where people could live beyond Earth. They can choose the Moon, another planet, or an asteroid. Models, computer designs, games, and experiments are possible ways to develop an idea. Teams need to consider local resources and protection for astronauts.
Students aged five to sixteen can join from ESA member countries, associate members, and Canada. Teachers submit their work through the programme. Each valid project earns a participation certificate. The final deadline is 26 July 2027. The challenge aims to develop teamwork and problem-solving through science. It is a classroom design project, rather than a trip into space.
