School students have a new chance to develop their musical confidence through a competition launched in Hanoi on 15 October. The School Music Talent Search accepts performers from primary school through high school. Singing, instrumental music and mixed performances are included. Its format combines online entries with later live rounds, helping students begin without travelling to a stage. Competitors may perform in Vietnamese or another language.
The preliminary round is scheduled to accept videos from 20 October to 10 December. Entries must be filmed vertically without cuts, editing or tools that improve the recorded voice. Judges provide most of the score, while public voting contributes a smaller share. Organisers say purchased likes can invalidate engagement scores. Beyond prizes, the competition aims to help young people gain stage experience and build confidence in their own abilities.
