Vietnamese technology company FPT and France's Quandela signed a research agreement in Hanoi on 19 October. It will give FPT specialists access to Quandela's quantum computing platform through the cloud. Researchers can use that access for testing and development in Vietnam. The partners want to explore practical uses of quantum technology rather than limit cooperation to discussions. Their planned work includes computing, communications and information security.
Training people is another important part of the partnership. The two-year framework is non-commercial and supports expert exchanges, knowledge sharing and links with universities. Quandela contributes experience in optical quantum computing, while FPT brings engineering skills and a research network. Possible industrial applications are still areas for investigation, not finished products announced at the ceremony. The agreement creates opportunities to learn, test ideas and develop specialist skills together.
