Big concerts are filling planes and hotels in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City this October. Travel platform Trip.com says flight bookings on major concert days rose by up to 70 percent from a year earlier. The biggest draw is BIGBANG, which performs at My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi on October 24 and 25. Flights to Hanoi for October 23 to 26 saw bookings rise 74 percent. Hotels within three kilometers of the stadium were fully booked by July 29.
Fans plan early. On average, they book flights 70 days ahead and hotels 76 days ahead. One fan from Ho Chi Minh City booked her trip in July, a month before tickets went on sale. In Ho Chi Minh City, hotel bookings for October 16 and 17 jumped 621 percent ahead of two other concerts. In Southeast Asia, the final quarter of the year is widely seen as concert season.
