Vietnam now has 21 hotels and resorts with Michelin Keys. The Michelin Guide published the second edition of its hotel awards on September 19. Two Vietnamese properties received three keys, the highest rating: Amanoi and Capella Hanoi. Four got two keys and 15 got one. Amanoi sits inside Nui Chua National Park in Khanh Hoa, about 100 kilometers from Nha Trang.
The resort has 44 units with private pools and butler service. Capella Hanoi stands 500 meters from Hoan Kiem Lake. Architect Bill Bensley designed it, inspired by the opera houses of the 1920s. Its 47 rooms all have balconies, and no two rooms share the same design. Hanoi's oldest hotel, the Sofitel Legend Metropole, was built in 1901. It climbed from one key last year to two this year. Other winners include Four Seasons The Nam Hai near Hoi An and Laguna Lang Co near Hai Van Pass.
