Passengers on international flights from Long Thanh Airport will pay a 25-dollar service fee. The fee starts on October 1. It is the same as at Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi. It is five dollars more than at Tan Son Nhat in Ho Chi Minh City. For domestic passengers, all three airports will charge 90,909 dong.
The new fee is part of the preparation for Long Thanh's opening. Its first phase can handle 25 million passengers a year. Flights will move step by step from Tan Son Nhat as the new airport is completed. The airport operator has proposed a plan. Long Thanh would take all international routes longer than 1,000 kilometers. For domestic flights, airlines could choose whether to use Long Thanh.
