Kuala Lumpur International Airport has won a special global title again. A British aviation firm named it the world's top hub for low-cost flights. It is the second year in a row the airport holds this title. Travelers there can choose from almost 15,000 budget connections. The flights reach 154 destinations around the world.
Budget airlines make up 44 percent of the airport's capacity. AirAsia is the biggest of them, with 34 percent of all flights. The airport is also the largest in Southeast Asia by land area. In seven months, it served 36.7 million passengers. Summer travelers from Europe, the Middle East, and parts of Asia pushed the number up.
