Vietnam's top leader To Lam visited Russia and France from September 7 to 12. He also attended an international summit about outer space in Paris. According to Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung, it was the first summit of national leaders devoted to space. The trip included the first state visit to Russia by a top Vietnamese leader since 1991. Trung said the journey brought wide and practical results for Vietnam.
During the visits, the leaders discussed cooperation in trade, science, education and energy. Vietnam and Russia plan to work together on a nuclear power project, while Vietnam and France want stronger trade links. Officials will now turn the agreements into detailed plans with clear tasks and timelines. The minister said closer ties with both countries support peace and development in the region.
