NASA shares a beautiful space picture every day on its website. The picture for 13 September shows a bright comet called NEOWISE. A photographer in Italy filmed the comet as it rose over the Adriatic Sea. He woke up very early on 8 July to catch the view. The comet was so bright that people could see it without a telescope.
The final video joins more than 240 photos taken over 30 minutes. In the video, the comet climbs through shining night clouds and passes distant stars. Many people call NEOWISE the Great Comet of 2020. It stayed bright for more than a month. Its icy center is about five kilometers wide.
