An astronaut on the International Space Station took a special photo on 26 August 2026. It shows Monterrey, a big city in northern Mexico, next to long mountain ridges. About 5.3 million people live in and around the city. Factories there make steel, glass and food.
South of the city, the mountains rise like giant walls. A river runs through the streets, but it is dry most of the year. It carries water after summer rains. One ridge is a nature reserve for plants and animals. Cactus plants grow on the low rocks, and pine trees grow higher up. A university there will host a NASA science event in November 2026.
