NASA has shared a beautiful new photo of two distant galaxies. The galaxies are crashing into each other at very high speed. The picture shows a system called II Zw 096. Three space telescopes worked together to make this colourful image. The Chandra telescope sees X-rays, and it found hot gas and a strong black hole.
The Hubble telescope added light that our eyes can see, in blue and white. The Webb telescope used infrared light to look behind clouds of space dust. There, many new stars are being born in huge star nurseries. Scientists say big crashes like this shaped the early universe. Such photos help them learn how galaxies grow.
