A UNICEF-supported survey covered accessible areas of Gaza in June 2026. It found relatively low acute malnutrition among children in the surveyed population. Chronic malnutrition, maternal malnutrition, poor diet quality, weak infant feeding practices, and substantial childhood illness remained concerning.
Stunting affected 12.2 per cent of children under five, while overweight affected 4.0 per cent. Among children aged 6–23 months, 73.0 per cent had eaten unhealthy food the previous day. Only 22.4 per cent received a minimum acceptable diet. These findings describe the accessible population surveyed during that period, not every person in Gaza or other periods. The results show important nutrition concerns, although their scope remains limited to the people and time included in this survey. Its findings do not represent people or periods outside that stated coverage.
