Thailand reached the ASEAN Championship final on Tuesday after a close two-match contest against Singapore. Thailand lost the second game 2-1 in Bangkok. However, they still won on aggregate with a total score of 4-3. A penalty by substitute Kakana Khamyol was the key moment. He scored in the 61st minute by sending the ball into the top corner.
Thailand's coach Anthony Hudson said he was proud of his young team for reaching the final. Singapore fought hard and scored twice, but it was not enough to advance. In the final, Thailand will play either Vietnam or Malaysia. Vietnam lead Malaysia 2-0 after the first leg, so a Vietnam-Thailand final looks very possible.
