A court in Indonesia began a trial against eleven daycare workers on Tuesday. The workers are accused of abusing children at the Little Aresha center in Yogyakarta. Police raided the daycare in April and found dozens of children aged two to six tied with ropes. Some had their hands and feet bound together. Parents attended the trial wearing pins that read 'We fight for our kids.'
Prosecutors say the workers did not give children proper food and tied their legs for misbehaving. They also dunked some children's heads in water. The case involves 144 child victims. The daycare owner faces separate charges for operating without a license. Parents report their children remain scared of new people. If convicted, the workers face up to five years in prison.
