A university in Ho Chi Minh City gave a special award to a Japanese professor. This happened last Tuesday. Professor Norimichi Takenaka works at Osaka Metropolitan University in Japan. The Vietnamese university wanted to thank him for over 20 years of work together. He has helped teachers and students study air pollution since 2004.
The two universities now have student exchange programs every year. Nearly 100 students and teachers from each country have visited the other. They work together on air quality research. This is the first time the Vietnamese university has given this honor. The award shows friendship between Vietnam and Japan.
