Ho Chi Minh City will provide free textbooks to disadvantaged students for the 2026-27 school year. The city will spend nearly 11 million dollars on the program. All students who need books can borrow them from their schools for free. Schools will organize the lending system before the new academic year begins in September.
Both public and private school students can receive the free books. Students in continuing education programs can also borrow textbooks. Recently, some bookstores have run out of textbooks in stock. Many parents reported they could not buy complete sets for their children. Schools must now purchase books and deliver them to students on time.
