A Vietnam Airlines plane had to return to Munich airport on August 15. The Boeing 787 was flying to Hanoi with 271 passengers. Thirty minutes after takeoff, the pilot told everyone about a technical problem. The plane circled near the airport for over an hour. It had to dump fuel before landing. Passengers were worried but stayed calm during the emergency.
The crew told passengers to bend down and protect their heads. The plane made two low passes at the airport before it finally touched down safely. Fire trucks sprayed foam under the aircraft. All passengers got off the plane and went to a hotel. They flew to Hanoi on different flights later.
