Mangroves are special trees that grow by the sea. They protect the coast from storms and help many fish. For many years, people cut them down for farms and buildings. Scientists thought these forests were disappearing very fast. But new research shows something different. Some countries are now working hard to save them.
A new study looked at pictures from space for over 40 years. It found that mangrove forests are growing back in many places. Communities around the world are helping to plant new trees. In Costa Rica, people planted more than 12,000 young mangrove trees. In Kenya, local teams now take care of nearly 5,000 areas of forest land.
